hookbaits
what's best for me
The very best situation we can have as an angler is when the fish identify our bait and look for it, that's the gateway to big fish and a lot of them.
It simply makes no sense whatsoever to bait up with something and fish with something different. The same thing applies to changing your hookbait with a dip or glug. Its not making it more attractive its making less like the item you are training the carp to eat.
There are obviously different situations and i would only really use a pop up to overcome bottom chod, weed, slopes or trying to get a quick bite over heavy baiting. We do cork dust pop ups made from the actual bait and a more buoyant airball type.
Making big batches of consistent buoyancy wafters has always been a challenge and in time they can dry out and become more buoyant.
we do 2 types of wafter
EBB which mostly sink and wafters which mostly just float. These can vary and i advise using putty or lead wire to adjust rather than looking for a different hookbait. Our hookbaits have elevated levels of powder and key additives and are exactly what has caught me hundreds of big fish. The EBB are harder hookbaits than standard boilies as well but all hookbaits can be hardened just by leaving exposed to the air for a couple of days,
